The only stigmatized acts were sodomy (religiously) and particularly receptive anal sex, which was considered to be extremely unmanly.

It is noteworthy, that the leading 'sexologists' who invented the concepts of 'homosexuality' were members of the third gender who were "women in the bodies of men," rather than the average man who desired men. What is more, they were not even qualified in the emerging field of sexology. Their ideas suited the anti-man agenda which was gaining tremendous ground in the West and they just took to it.
